This is a perfect batch of Dulce De Leche. You know it's really easy to make by hand
but need time and patience. If you have time 7.25-7.50 hours in a crock pot you can have this. Nothing to clean except the can opener and the spoon.
You'll need 2 cans of condensed milk (don't use borden it costs a little more but I found it had a funky taste) I used Nestle' for this batch and it was perfect.
You'll need a crock pot with timer setting ie., 2-4-6-8-10 hours with temp setting.
Take paper off the cans and wash the cans, I am ocd about that. lay them on their sides in the crock pot, fill your crock pot with water 1 inch above cans. Set timer to 8 hours on low and let it go.
Now the original recipe says 8 hours, it becomes quite thick if you like it like that so for it. However, I went 7.50 that 7 hours 30 minutes and got a good consistency where it melts nicely in my coffee. 7.25 would be good too.
Take the cans out of the crock pot don't leave them in there. Stand them up and let them cool down at least 15-20 minutes or they will explode.
Using a container you will keep the deliciousness in spoon into the vessel. Take your mixer with one beater and mix the Dulce to smooth it out. Let cool completely and place in fridge. It should hold a couple weeks in the fridge. But will it last that long?
That's all there is too it.
Now I need to see if there is such a thing of Kobe Cream Condensed milk? That would be marvelous.
